My Thoughts for Today (9:13 am)

I came across this article over at Lifehacker and it got my mind going as a geek and an consumer...

I'm not planning on jumping from Android any time soon but one plus I do give Apple is when it comes to updates.  Me and friend were talking about Android (he has the HTC EVO I have the Samsung Mesmerize) and my gripe is not with the Android platforms but with the carriers and the manufactures.
I truly believe the reason for pushing the slow updates is due to the fact that they have so many new phones coming out they are lagging when it comes to pushing updates to the consumers. (My phone is still on 2.1 and 2.2 will not reach my phone until the end of March. >_< )

It has always been an angle with these companies. First: people don't have money to throw at these companies when it they come out with new phones running the recent OS...I know I don't. Second: if they would just keep their current phones with the latest OS updates this will grow loyalty to the brand and the carrier. (I guess they don't know the "draw more flies with sugar than vinegar" concept). If they would take this approach of providing the "little things" when it comes to customer service and phone updates, customers would stick with them instead of writing about how greedy they are...like I'm doing at this very moment.

You can't please everyone I know and I'm taking into account that with Android it puts me in mind of Windows: different companies have to make sure this OS (Android) works on their phones but at least provide the necessity to use your product and not try and manipulate consumers every chance you get.

That's just my two cents. What do you think of my thoughts my fellow Android users?
